Week Commencing April 20, 2020
After a month-long hiatus, I am back with you today to share the weekly lunar moon and energy forecast!
So we are now in Taurus sun season, and this week we will see the new moon in Taurus. What a great week this will be for really focusing on our self-care and nourishing our mind, body and soul on all levels. In these tumultuous times we need to practice self-care more than ever, and there is no better time than a Taurus new moon to really establish a solid, beautiful self-care practice.
Waning Crescent Moon in Aries
But, to start the week, we have the balsamic or waning crescent moon in the sign of Aries. This is a bit of a tricky energy to manage, because the waning moon in the last few days before the new moon should be where we really rest, relax and slow down, whilst the moon being in firey Aries might make us want to pursue with gusto the things we still want to complete in this lunar cycle. These conflicting energies might make us feel a but unsettled, but do your best to surrender and let go and keep whatever is not yet done for your new moon intentions list. If you feel like you want to take action, do a de-clutter to clear out the stagnant energy in preparation for the new moon.
New Moon in Taurus
The new moon mid-week is a powerful and potent time. Taurus loves indulgence and luxury, so take time on the new moon to really nourish yourself. Whilst it’s tricky for most of us to go and get a massage at this time, find some other ways to pamper yourself on this new moon. An at-home foot spa or a facial could do the trick, and be sure to spend time out in your garden if you have one. Make your living space one that feels luxurious- pick some flowers and put them into a vase in your bedroom and diffuse your favourite essential oils while blissing out. Focus on eating well- a clean, plant-based diet is best for supporting your body while the moon is in Taurus.
A Taurus new moon is an abundant time, and a good opportunity to review your finances and make a budget for success to focus on in the next 6 months before the Taurus full moon. A new moon always provides us with a fresh start. This whole pandemic period of time is like the whole world has been given a re-set button, so on this new moon, look at what new beginnings there are in your own life. What would you really love to be, do and have and what would it take to have these in your life? What changes do you need to make and how can plan to make these changes really happen. Write these wishes down on your new moon intention list and conduct a little ritual to manifest them to you.
This new moon is perfect for the self-care pillars of self-management (especially around money and finances), rest and relaxation (make nourishing yourself top-priority!) and also the relationships pillar- with yourself and your loved ones- so that they can be stable and secure.
Waxing Crescent Moon in Gemini
For the weekend, the moon will be starting to wax in the sign of communicative Gemini. In normal times we would really enjoy the chance to get together with friends and to really have some engaging and open conversations that really get us thinking. Instead, we can harness the intellectual and curious-minded Gemini energy while staying at home by hitting the books and learning something new to discuss with friends over Zoom or in Houseparty with some quarantinis instead. If you are feeling mentally scattered in this time, something that can be exacerbated while stuck inside as our energy levels start to increase, use meditation as a tool to focus your mental energy. You might also enjoy doing something mindful and creative like colouring in.
