Solstice is a time when the seasons are shifting. Also known as Mid-Summer or Litha, the Summer Solstice marks the longest day and shortest night of the year. In the Southern Hemisphere, this is occurring today on December 21. Summer Solstice is a very yang and expansive time, when we can celebrate the Sun and warmth and powerful solar energy and all the strength and healing that the Sun brings to us on Earth. I love to Moon gaze but have always been a Sun worshipper too. Lunar Energy & Mood Forecast
We start this week with the moon in organised and focused Capricorn. This is a good vibe for starting a new week. While we might feel our energy levels start to recede, we can harness the discipline from Capricorn to plan out very clear goals for taking action on in the week ahead. The moon will move into the sign of Aquarius later on Tuesday when it will also connect with the planet Mars. This will bring us another burst of energy in a phase when we usually feel more like doing the more mundane tasks on our schedule.

The Best Energy and Mood Boosting Foods
There is no question that what you eat can affect how you feel, right?
The foods we eat, and how they interact with our body and mind is actually very complex. While we don't know the exact mechanisms of how food and nutrition impact on our overall health and well-being, we do know a few ways food impacts our mental health and energy levels.
First, what we eat becomes the raw materials for our neurotransmitters. “Neurotransmitters” are biochemical messengers that allow our nerve cells to communicate (ever heard of serotonin?). They are important not just for our ability to think and our memory, but also for our overall mental health.
Second, what we eat affects our blood sugar. And having unstable blood sugar levels can contribute to mood swings and changes to our overall energy. Think about how you feel when you haven’t eaten for a while and are really hungry (hangry!) or after you have eaten a big meal and seem to fall into a slump depending on what foods you ate.
Let’s talk some more about mood-boosting and mood-busting foods.
