Week Commencing February 8, 2021
*all dates and times are AEST
This week the Moon continues to wane and our energy levels will recede as we go inward in preparation for the New Moon at the end of this week. It’s a gentle week astrologically, so rest and reflection should be the main aims for this week. Mercury is still in retrograde in Aquarius so continue to be mindful of things related to your communication, transport and technology. This coming weekend is also Valentine’s Day and the New Moon also marks Chinese New Year. Let’s look more closely at what we can expect from the Moon this week.
Waning Crescent Moon in Capricorn
On Monday the Moon is Waning Crescent in the sign of ambitious and determined Capricorn which is really a great Moon sign for kicking off a new week. This brings a good opportunity to get strategic, plan out your week and the rest of the month, and step into a leadership role. With the waning Moon, it can feel like a struggle to get going, but harness the Capricorn energy to be productive, set goals and work through any challenges with grace.
Be mindful of feeling overwhelmed and being too uptight. Allow yourself time to rest and relax and have a good laugh throughout the day on Monday and Tuesday. Diffuse or apply to the solar plexus region a couple of drops of Ginger essential oil to empower you to be committed and purposeful on this Capricorn Moon.
Dark Moon
On Wednesday the Moon is Void-of-course from 3:22am until 11:21pm which conveniently coincides with the start to the Dark Moon Phase. With the Moon in darkness for a few days, it gives us permission to go slow, take time to reflect on the past lunar cycle and to re-evaluate as you plan out what we want for the next.
Take time out for quiet, rest and for doing activities such as journaling, meditation and spending time out in nature. It’s a nice time to do little spells or rituals that can connect you to your intuition and to do less important, more fun tasks as you tune into what it is that you want to bring into your life and what you want to let go of. Use the essential oil Basil for support in feeling renewed, rested and rejuvenated (apply to adrenals and onto the bottom of the feet.
New Moon in Aquarius
The New Moon in Aquarius will be exact at 5:05am on Friday and it then enters a Void Moon just 1 minute afterwards until 5:24pm. For this reason, you should plan to set your New Moon in Aquarius intentions either on Thursday night or wait until Friday evening to do these. This is because things that are started on a Void Moon are difficult to see to completion. It is much better to hold off on your intention setting on this New Moon work and spend your time on Friday reflecting on what you have achieved and learned, integrating any new insights, and resting if possible. It would be a great day to do a digital detox and to unplug from technology if possible. Instead spend time in your community and collaboration with like-minded others and discuss your ideas and beliefs about what’s important to really harness the open-minded Aquarian vibes.
The energies of the New Moon in visionary Aquarius could be a little unsettling with tensions possible, due to the astro weather seeing 5 planets- the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Saturn all conjunct in Aquarius, and Mars and Uranus Square in Taurus. With so much action happening in Aquarius, expect to feel innovative and for there to be a collective revolutionary energy. Aquarius is eccentric, unconventional and intellectual, so harness these energies to have some fun and enjoy doing things a bit differently to how you usually would- embrace your inner rebel!
In planning out your intentions, try to see things from new perspectives and allow your inner weirdo to be seen and heard. What do you want to manifest practically, emotionally and spiritually into your life? Take time away from technology and social media on Friday to really allow the Aquarian energies to guide you. Get out your My Unstoppable Life Journal and do your Moon Mapping (waiting until the evening to actual do your intention setting ritual). This Aquarius New Moon oil blend will help to tap into your potential, be open to new experiences and possibilities and have clarity for your big visions: Green Mandarin, Rosemary and Clary Sage.
Waxing Crescent Moon in Pisces
Over the weekend, the Waxing Crescent Moon will be in sensitive Pisces. A Pisces Moon can have us feeling very intuitive and creative whilst the Waning Crescent could cause restlessness, being unsettled or even overwhelmed with the intentions you have set. Be patient with yourself and allow yourself to daydream if need-be.
Enjoy the beauty of nature, listen to music that make you feel good and engage all of your senses which will likely be heightened. It’s always good to use tarot or oracle cards with the higher levels of intuition and be gentle with any big emotions you may feel. Use the oil Litsea for intuitive support and to assist with staying open to all the possibilities that are ahead.
